Mining Statistics In Detail

– Block time: Approximately 60 seconds
– Current Block Reward: 4 PIRATE (ARRR)
– Block reward halves: every 388885 blocks (every 270 days)

– Next halving is due on or around December 25th, 2023.
– Block reward of 1 arrrtoshi will be reached in about 23 years
– Total supply of around 200 million PIRATE

TIME REMAINING UNTIL NEXT HALVING

A halving occurs roughly every 9 months which means 1/2 of the mining reward per block. Read more.

Since Pirate has no Dev fund and had no ICO, some pools have decided to support pirate development. One third of their mining pool fees go to Pirate marketing and integration, one third goes to the onboarding referral program and one third goes to the pool operator.

Equihash Mining Algorithm

ARRR uses the equihash mining algorithm. Equihash is an asymmetric memory-oriented mining algorithm based on the proof-of-work concept. Equihash is based on a computer science and cryptography concept also known as the generalized birthday problem. Whilst it permits the miners to mine equihash-based cryptocurrencies with just a standard PC, personal machines tend to lack the hashing power to mine profitably. This has been the case since major mining hardware providers manufactured dedicated miners for increasing the hashpower in equihash-based coins.

Mining Hardware

ARRR uses the equihash mining algorithm and can be mined using a variety of ASIC equihash-compatible hardware as well as a variety of GPUs. Although ASIC is highly recommended due to the high level of hashpower needed. There are a few brands that offer equihash mining software. You will need to do your own research before investing in a brand or distributor.

As ASIC hardware tends to be noisy and produce heat, there are also hosting companies available. However you need to be vigilant with the terms as the prices fluctuate and so does any mining profit.
